Ridge Pike Business District

The Ridge Pike corridor represents a gateway to the Township. The Ridge Pike Business District was created with a nod toward the potential for redevelopment and growth within the corridor. The RPBD provides the opportunity for various development bonuses for commercial redevelopment along Ridge Pike.

Ridge Pike Corridor Project

Discussions began in June of 2013 at a combined Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors meeting to visit planned development possibilities since the waterline project had begun. With public water now in this area there is increased development potential. Montgomery County Planning Commission/Township Planner Sean Metrick worked on a vision with the Planning Commission for the area between Level/Evansburg Road and the Perkiomen Bridge.

This was the first phase of the project. We will then move onto the next section of corridor beginning around the Township Municipal Complex and ending approximately around Church Road. The third phase will continue from Park Avenue area to the Township border at Trooper Road.

All the discussions and designing is keeping in mind and planning for bike routes, trails and working with the businesses, property owners and residents to create a community project and corridor.

Additional Benefits

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) also conducted an Access Management study simultaneously. Access management assists with issues that arise where land use meets transportation by making highways more mobile and providing traffic calming where necessary.
