Open House: Lower Providence 2040 Comprehensive Plan

Comprehensive Plan Open House May 4, 2022

Provide input on the future of your community!

The steering committee shaping the Township's Comprehensive Plan will host an Open House on May 4, 2022. Residents are invited to review the draft plan and provide feedback before the plan is finalized. Participate in interactive activities and talk with steering committee members, planners, elected officials and staff.

The event will be held at the Lower Providence Fire Company, 3199 Ridge Pike, Eagleville. Residents can stop by in the afternoon, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. or for the evening session, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Arrive any time within those windows.

The open house will provide residents the opportunity to share their thoughts on the community vision and future goals within the plan. Professionals from the Montgomery County Planning Commission have been working with the members of the steering committee comprised of Township officials and community members representing a diverse mix of interests, professional experiences and demographics. Their work began in the spring of 2020. The comprehensive plan will lay the foundation for Lower Providence for the next 10+ years.

A comprehensive plan is a policy document adopted by a municipality that includes background information on the municipality’s past, analysis of current issues and trends, a vision for the future, and recommendations to reach the desired goals and objectives toward the vision. The plan provides guidance for future development, road improvements, parks, recreation, sidewalks, trail facilities, infrastructure improvements, zoning changes, and similar topics. The plan assists with establishing funding sources for implementation and a sound basis for recommended changes.
