Township's Proposed 2023 Budget Available for Review

2023 Budget sign

At the November 3, 2022 business meeting, the Board of Supervisors authorized the advertisement of the proposed 2023 budget. Following the required advertisement period, the Board will consider adoption of the final 2023 budget at its meeting on December 1, 2022 to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building, 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville, PA.

The proposed budget anticipates a tax increase for general purposes of 0.3118 mills and for Fire/EMS purposes of 0.06 mills. The increase addresses the Township’s continuing structural deficit and allows for improvements in the level of services provided to the community.

Real estate taxes are comprised of four taxing jurisdictions: Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), and Methacton School District.  Of a homeowner’s total real estate tax bill, 82 percent goes to the school district, 11 percent goes to Montgomery County / MCCC and just 7 percent comes to Lower Providence to fund all of the services provided by the Township.

With the increase in the proposed 2023 budget, the average taxpayer would see the portion of their taxes that come to the Township raised by about $62.80 or $5 per month.

The supervisors and staff have been working on the 2023 budget since July, including 10 hours of public workshops. The proposed 2023 budget, a detailed budget summary, and workshop materials can be viewed at the links below:
