Yard Waste Reminders

Please note graphic

As the weather improves and with the current stay-at-home restrictions, residents are getting lots of yard work done. The Township has received some complaints about the dumping of yard waste on private wooded properties. Please be aware that it is illegal to dump your yard waste on another property even if it is wooded or open space. Thank you for being considerate of your neighbors.

Yard waste is collected once a week by JP Mascaro. The company operates several indoor composting facilities which transform the organic material into useable fertilizer. As you place your yard waste out for collection, please remember:

  • Yard waste, leaves and lawn clippings should be placed in open-top containers or compostable bags; do not use plastic bags or tape the bags shut
  • Twigs and branches should be cut to 3-foot lengths, should be no more than 3” in diameter and tied in bundles 50 lbs. or less
  • Yard waste is collected on Wednesdays, year-round. High volume may necessitate completion of collection on Thursday
