1. What are the Police Department's Hours?

Lower Providence Township provides police service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  For counter service (reports, complaints, prescription medication drop-off, etc.) hours are 8  a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday Through Friday.  Hours may occasionally vary due to staffing and holidays.  

2. Does the police department do fingerprinting for applications/employment?

Yes. You can contact the police department at 610-539-5901 to schedule an appointment. This service is for our local residents only, you must live or work in Lower Providence Township.  

3. Where do I pay a parking ticket?

Parking tickets can be paid at our front counter of the station during normal business hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday Through Friday. 

4. Where do I pay a traffic ticket?

A traffic ticket or citation should be mailed within 10 days to the following address:

5. How do I get a copy of a Police Report?

Police reports are released after they are completed and approved.  To request a copy of a report, a Pennsylvania Right to Know form must be completed.  The form can be obtained from our website or from our front counter.  After the Right to Know form is submitted we have 5 business days to review the incident report to determine if it is releasable.  All reports that may be released can be picked up from our front counter at the station, and  there is a $20 fee.  Right to Know form.

6. How do I obtain a copy of a crash report?

Accidents that are releaseable are uploaded to CRASHDOCS.  There is a $15 fee for all accident reports and it can take 5-7 days from the time of the accident until they are available.  

7. How do I get a Protection from Abuse Order (PFA)?

If you are experiencing abuse of any sort and it is an emergency, immediately contact the police by dialing 911. If you need to speak to someone about the situation and it is not an emergency, call 610-539-5901. Officers will personally assist anyone who is a victim of abuse through the process. PFA orders are handled in the Prothonotary's Office which is located on the first floor of the Montgomery County Court House. They will provide you with the appropriate paperwork and directions on where to file them. The Prothonotary's Office can be reached at 610-278-1191.

8. Who do I contact about traffic problems in the Township?

For immediate problems such as road obstructions, defective traffic lights, etc., contact 610-635-4300.  For problems such as speeding, traffic regulations, or general questions call the police station at 610-539-5901, or email Sergeant Stead at mstead@lowerprovidence.org

9. Are there any other sources of assistance for victims of abuse or other crimes?

10. Do you allow tours of your Police Station?

Yes!  We love giving tours and enjoy getting to meet our township residents.  We ask that you call 610-539-5901 in advance to schedule a time and date.
