Officials from the Township and Methacton School District communicated with PennDOT about the bridge rehabilitation project on Eagleville Road originally scheduled to start March 11. PennDOT has decided to delay the project to the summer months. A notice will be posted when a specific start date is selected, most likely in June.

The PennDOT project will rehabilitate the bridge carrying Eagleville Road over Eagleville Run.  PennDOT’s contractor will rehabilitate the bridge by removing and resetting the masonry arch barrel, walls and barrier; excavating and replacing the arch backfill with lightweight concrete; and replacing existing concrete parapets with a stone masonry facing. Built in 1935, the Eagleville Road bridge over Eagleville Run is a single-span stone masonry arch structure, and carries an average of 6,252 vehicles a day. It is currently posted for 29 tons.
