Township Holds Reorganization Meeting

The Board of Supervisors held its reorganization meeting on Monday, Jan. 7. The Board elected Supervisor Peter MacFarland to serve as chair for 2019 and Supervisor Colleen Eckman as vice chair.

At the meeting, the Board appointed Township residents to serve on various boards and committees. These include:

  • Finance Committee (4-year terms) - Reappointed George Bancroft, Louis Lombardo and Colleen Eckman
  • Library Board of Trustees (3-year terms) - Reappointed Nancy Klein and appointed Michelle Santoro
  • Parks and Recreation Board (5-year term) – Appointed John Zollers
  • Planning Commission (4-year terms) - Reappointed Virginia Kricun and appointed Patrick Neary
  • Sewer Authority (5-year term) - Appointed Jason Sorgini
  • UCC Board of Appeals (3-year term) - Reappointed Joseph McKeone
  • Vacancy Board (1-year term) - Reappointed Gloria Corcoran
  • Zoning Hearing Board (5-year term) - Reappointed Kathie Eskie and Chris Gerdes was appointed to fill an alternate position expiring in 2022

The members of the Board of Supervisors serve as liaisons to the Township boards/committees. Appointments for 2019 are:

  • Chairman MacFarland - Library Board and Business Development Committee
  • Vice Chairman Eckman - Business Development Committee
  • Supervisor Patrick Duffy - Parks & Recreation Board
  • Supervisor Gary Neights - Finance Committee and Planning Commission
  • Supervisor Jason Sorgini – Pension Committee

In other business, the Supervisors voted to authorize staff to apply for a PennDOT Green Light Go grant for automated traffic signal measures along the Egypt Road corridor from Crawford Road to Surrey Lane. The project will help the Township reduce delays and improve safety in the area.
