Statement from the Board of Supervisors Regarding Recent Vandalism Incident

Lower Providence Township logo

Earlier this week, the Township received a report of vandalism on the exterior of one of the buildings at the Methacton Audubon Recreation Association (MARA) fields. The vandalism involved racial and homophobic slurs and was immediately addressed by MARA leadership and Township staff to minimize the impact on the public. We have directed the Township Manager and Chief of Police to investigate this matter and take appropriate action.

The Board of Supervisors stands united in our disgust at such a cowardly display of hatred. It reaffirms our commitment to welcome all neighbors and create a community that’s safe and respectful. We want our community members to be safe, have their voices heard, and be treated with respect. There is no place for racism, discrimination, vandalism, and mistreatment of residents. Together we can create a Lower Providence that realizes the promise of liberty and justice for all of us.

Sincerely,

Lower Providence Township Board of Supervisors
