Student Representative Candidates Sought

Lower Providence Township is once again seeking to continue its practice of appointing student representatives to the Board of Supervisors.

The Board is seeking to appoint two representatives, each for a one-year term, September 2021 – August 2022. The students will alternate attending the two monthly meetings of the Board.

The student representative sits with the five Supervisors, the Township Manager and the Township Solicitor during public meetings. While not a voting member, the student representative is welcome to ask questions and participate in discussions. The Board meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Eligible applicants must live in Lower Providence Township and be high school juniors for the 2021-2022 school year. Students who are home schooled are eligible. Candidates should possess an interest in government and civic affairs. Children of elected officials or Township employees are not eligible.
