Township's Proposed 2024 Budget Available for Review

2024 Proposed Budget

At the November 16, 2023 business meeting, the Board of Supervisors authorized the advertisement of the proposed 2024 budget. Following the required advertisement period, the Board will consider adoption of the final 2024 budget at its meeting on December 20, 2023 to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building, 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville, PA.

The proposed budget anticipates a tax increase for general purposes of 0.5131 mills. The increase addresses the Township’s continuing structural deficit and allows for improvements in the level of services provided to the community.

Real estate taxes are comprised of four taxing jurisdictions: Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), and Methacton School District.

Of a homeowner’s current real estate tax bill, 81 percent goes to the school district, 11.5 percent goes to Montgomery County / MCCC. Just 7.5 percent comes to Lower Providence to fund all of the services provided by the Township.

With the increase in the proposed 2024 budget, the average property would see the portion of the taxes that come to the Township raised by about $86.66 or $7.22 per month.

The Supervisors and staff have been working on the 2024 budget since July, including 10+ hours of public workshops. The proposed 2024 budget can be viewed on the Finance Department webpage.
