Rate Increase Notice
Dear Sewer Authority Customer:
This letter is to advise you of an increase in the sewage treatment charge portion of your bill which is effective January 1, 2019. This increase is necessary to offset a significant increase in their cost to treat sewage at the Oaks Waste Water Treatment Plant operated by the Lower Perkiomen Valley Regional Sewer Authority (LPVRSA). In November 2018, LPVRSA increased the amount for sewage treatment by $24.00 per unit per year.
Lower Providence Township Sewer Authority (LPTSA) IS NOT increasing its collection fees. The increase in your quarterly invoice is a direct pass through of the treatment charge from LPVRSA.
RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS: The new rate will be $332.00 per year per unit or $83.00 per quarter per unit which is divided between LPTSA - $38.00 - for collection and LPVRSA - $45.00 - for treatment which is an increase of $6.00 per quarter.
NON-RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS: This includes all commercial, industrial, schools, clubhouses, fire houses, office, banks, hospitals, churches, chapels, institutions, and any other non-residential users. The rate is $45.00 per assigned UFU (user fee unit) per quarter, plus $1.41 per 1,000 gallons of water (as measured by the water bill promulgated to each non-residential user) which is consumed during the billing quarter, provided, however that the minimum sewer rental charge for each non-residential improved property shall be $38.00 per quarterly billing period in addition to the charge related to UFUs.
When paying your sewer rental bill please make checks payable to LPTSA. You may pay in person (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) or mail to LPTSA, 20 Parklane Drive, Eagleville, PA 19403. We accept cash, money order, checks, including online banking checks. For your convenience, a drop slot at the office door for after hour payments is available. Please do not mail cash or leave cash in the drop slot.
Any questions regarding the increase should be directed to the Lower Perkiomen Valley Regional Sewer Authority at 610-676-9040. Their monthly meetings are held at the Oaks Wastewater Treatment Plant, 101 Station Avenue, Oaks, PA 19456 at 11:00 AM on the second Tuesday of each month.
